Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be reaching Leh on Thursday on a two-day visit to Ladakh, close to the border between India and China.
“Today, 27th October, I shall be in Srinagar to attend the ‘Shaurya Diwas’ programme organised by the Indian Army. Later in the day, I shall be reaching Leh on a two-day visit to Ladakh,” tweeted Singh.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with the Armed Forces in Kargil.
Singh’s visit to Ladakh comes after his recent trips to areas close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) along the northeastern border and also Uttarakhand.
On October 5, the Defence Minister celebrated Vijayadashmi with soldiers in Auli and also visited the forward posts.
Along with Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande, he had also performed ‘Shastra Puja’ with the soldiers at the military station on the auspicious occasion.
A week before that, Singh had made an on-the-ground assessment of the country’s defence preparedness along the LAC by taking stock of the entire gamut of security-related aspects in Arunachal Pradesh.
