Weather office warns of very heavy rainfall in Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh

India Meteorological Department has warned of very heavy rainfall in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh today.

The weather bulletin issued today forecasts :

*Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Coastal Karnataka on 24th June.

*Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 24th; and over South Interior Karnataka on 25th & 26th June.

*Very heavy rainfall likely in Kerala on 27th June.

*Widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorms & lightning very likely over the southern states (except Tamil Nadu) during next 5 days.

*West India: Widespread rainfall with thunderstorms & lightning very likely over Konkan & Goa and Maharashtra, Saurashtra and Kutch during 24th-28th June.

*Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Gujarat during 24th-28th and over north Madhya Maharashtra on 24th & 25th June.

*The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Karnataka, Telangana and some more parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, today the 24th June.

*Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon during the next 2 days.
