The weather office has warned of isolated heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during a wet spell from 29th August-1st September and over Kerala during 29th -30th August.
The weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department today has also forecast:
*Isolated heavy rainfall activity likely to continue over Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Northeast India
*A fresh rainfall spell likely over parts of East India from 2nd September
*Subdued rainfall activity likely to continue over remaining parts of the country during next 4-5 days.
Significant Weather features:
*The Monsoon Trough continues to run along the foothills of the Himalayas. It is likely to remain along the foothills of Himalayas or to the north of its normal position during next 5 days. Its eastern end is
likely to shift southwards to its normal position from 2nd September.
*A trough runs from South Interior Karnataka to Comorin area in lower tropospheric levels.
