Weather office warns of heavy rains in Kerala, Tamil Nadu

India Meteorological Department today forecast widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Interior Karnataka on 11th & 12th May.

*Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is very likely over Kerala & Mahe during the next 5 days.

*Maximum temperatures are very likely to rise by 3-5°C over most parts of the country during the next 3 days except over East India.

*Due to humid air and high temperature, “hot and uncomfortable weather” is very likely in Tamil Nadu on 13th & 14th May, in Konkan during the next 3 days and  Odisha during the next 5 days.

*Heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Gujarat state, central  Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal on 10th & 11th May; and over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during 13th-15th May.
