India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall at places in Kerala and Coastal Karnataka during the next 3 days and over South Interior Karnataka during 12th to 14th June.
It has also forecast widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds over the region during the next 5 days.
IMD’s weather bulletin issued today also states:
*The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into most parts of northeast India and more parts of south peninsular India, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal today.
*Heat wave conditions are likely to continue over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, West Bengal, Odisha Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh during the next 2-3 days.
*Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “Biparjoy” over eastcentral Arabian Sea.
