India Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Kerala and scattered rainfall over Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh during the next 5 days.
The weather department has also forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu on 27th May and over Kerala during 27th -29th May and over South Interior Karnataka on 29th May.
The weather bulletin issued today also states:
*Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during next 2 days.
*A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from 29th May, 2023. This will bring fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning & occasional winds over Northwest India during next 4-5 days.
*Northeast India: Fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely to continue over Assam & Meghalaya and Mizoram & Tripura during next 24 hours and reduction thereafter.
*Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland 27th May,
*East India: Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning likely over West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar and Jharkhand during next 2 days.
