The video shows a tiger majestically strolling amid paddy fields in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district as a farmer is cultivating his land with a tractor in the background in what appears to be a perfect co-existence between man and wildlife.
The area is at the edge of the Dudhwa National Park from where the tiger has strayed out.
The 51-minute breathtaking clip shot by another farmer in the area has been posted on Twitter.
India’s tiger population has increased by 6.74% to 3,167 in 2022, up from 2,967 in 2018, according to the latest report of National Tiger Conservation Authority. The Gangetic plains have shown an increase in their tiger population. However, linear infrastructure projects and human-wildlife conflict are among the challenges facing the tiger in the country, the report said.
