Watch: Speeding Porsche sports car rams into tree and catches fire in Gurugram

A speeding Porsche 911 sports car collided rammed into a tree after hitting a divider and burst into flames in Gurugram on the outskirts of Delhi on Thursday, according to the local police.

The incident took place at around 4 am on Golf Course Road. Both the occupants of the car, who were reportedly drunk, managed to escape from the burning car.

According to police, the driver of the Porsche 911 sports car was speeding and lost control of the vehicle. The occupants were headed towards Sikandarpur from Sector 56.

“The car collided with a divider, jumped over to the other side, and hit a tree and caught fire,” a police officer said.

A team of firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire in half an hour, police said. The car valued at Rs 4 crore was completely destroyed.

Witnesses alleged that the driver of the Porsche 911 was drunk and driving at an uncontrollable speed at the time of the accident.

The police launched a hunt for the driver who crashed the car but later in the day a city-based businessman informed the cops that his son was driving the car at the time of the accident. He claimed that the crash occurred as his son was trying to save a dog that suddenly came in front of the car.

However, police are investigating the case.
