Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated Indian personnel for their hard work under Operation Dost in quake-hit Turkey. In a tweet on Friday evening, Modi said: “Our teams are working day and night as a part of ‘Operation Dost.’ They will keep giving their best to ensure maximum lives and property are saved. In this critical time, India stands firmly with the people of Türkiye”.
The Indian Prime Minister has taken personal interest in ensuring that India responds with alacrity to the devastating series of quakes in Turkey and Syria. India has sent a number of teams for rescue and relief under the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with sniffer dogs.
The Ministry of External affairs tweeted on Friday morning, saying that the Indian Army teams are working 24×7. The ministry also tweeted videos from the Indian Army’s Field Hospital in Iskenderun, Hatay, Turkey.
Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah had lauded the NDRF’s team’s effort to rescue a six-year-old from the rubble. In a tweet he lauded Team IND-11 of the NDRF for saving the life of a six-year-old girl, Beren, in Gaziantep city.
