Watch: PM flags off Madhya Pradesh’s 1st Vande Bharat Express from jam packed Bhopal station

Finally, the wait for Madhya Pradesh was over as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi flagged-off the 11th Vande Bharat Express today from Bhopal. The packed Rani Kamlapati station was jam packed as the train started moving towards its destination, New Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station.

Before flagging off the train, PM interacted with several of the school children who are travelling in this maiden run of the train. Having a special bond with children, he spent considerable time with them.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the State Chief Minister, was also present at the inauguration of the train from the platform which was aesthetically decorated.

This train will cover 708 kilometres in 7 hours and 45 minutes. Incidentally, Hazrat Nizamuddin has been chosen instead of New Delhi railway station to save half an hour.

The train, which is the first Vande Bharat for the West Central Zone, will operate six days a week except on Saturday. There will be three stops between Bhopal and New Delhi. The stations where it will stop are Veeranganga Lakshmibai, Gwalior and Agra Cantonment.

People of Madhya Pradesh, especially Bhopal, are extremely happy that the high-speed Vande has come to their region.

The fare for Vande Bharat from Hazrat Nizamuddin and Rani Kamalapati station will be Rs.1,665 and this includes Rs.308 as optional catering charges. The executive class is priced at Rs.3,120.
