WATCH: Leopards racing up a coconut tree

A video clip showing the remarkable agility with which leopards can climb and descend trees has been shared on Twitter by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, Susanta Nanda.

The 77-second clip first shows a leopard high up on the coconut tree amid a tall maize crop in the field below. The leopard appears to be looking around to spot something as it gradually slides down. Then as it has almost reached the bottom of the tree it starts racing up again and suddenly another leopard follows and chases it up the tree.

Then there is a scuffle at the top of the coconut tree and one of the leopards swiftly descends leaving one guessing at to what it’s all about.
