Watch: Indian army sends message to China by exercising close to Siliguri Corridor

The exercise “Trishakti Prahar” showcased the conduct of integrated warfare where assets of the Indian Air Force, Airborne Special Forces and paramilitary forces, police, and civil defence organisations teamed up in the manoeuvres.

The drills ended with an integrated display of firepower at the Teesta Field Firing Ranges, in the presence of Lt. Gen. RP Kalita, Army Commander, Eastern Command.

By holding exercises close to the Siliguri corridor, Indian armed forces sent a message to China that they were well prepared to counter any attack on the so-called Chicken’s Neck—the narrow passage that connects the Northeast with the rest of India.

India rebuffed Chinese intrusion in Doklam in 2017, which had domination of the Siliguri corridor as its strategic objective.
