Watch: Helmet gives biker two new lives within seconds in nasty crash on Delhi road

A motorcycle rider escaped from the jaws of death twice in a matter of seconds because he was wearing a helmet that was strapped on properly, a video posted by the Delhi Police on Twitter shows.

The chilling 15-second video shows the biker going into a bad skid as he swerves to avoid a car that suddenly turns in front of him on the road. As the biker goes sliding on the ground after the crash, his head is seen clearly hitting the road and had it not been for the helmet the fall would have been fatal.

When the biker gets up, the lamp post on the side of the road, which was damaged by the bike, suddenly comes crashing down on him and he falls to the ground under the impact. His head hits the hard ground again and once again the helmet serves its crucial role in saving him as it bears the brunt of the fall.
