Three members of a family were killed after an 18-wheel truck skidded at high speed and toppled over, crushing the car they were travelling in on a highway in Punjab.
The tragic accident took place at Behram on the national highway connecting Jalandhar and Chandigarh.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the truck-trailer take a sharp turn at high speed which caused it to topple on its side and go sliding across the highway. There are two cars coming down the highway as the truck is cutting across. While one of the cars gets completely crushed under the truck the other rams into the sand-laden truck after it toppled.
A couple and their son died in the car that was crushed while three passengers in the other car were injured.
Police have registered a case against Major Singh, the driver of the trailer, for causing death due to rash and negligent driving.
