A man was killed and four persons, including a 13-year-old boy, were injured after a helium tank exploded while the victim was buying balloons from a vendor at a crowded market in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Ravi, 35.
The horrifying incident was captured on CCTV cameras in a textile showroom, outside which the vendor had set up his stall to sell balloons.
The video shows scared people running in all directions after the blast. An autorickshaw and some two-wheelers were also damaged in the explosion.
The balloon seller, Nar Singh, has been arrested and an FIR for “causing death by negligence,” a police official said.
