Video: Indian Railways adds another attraction for tourists visiting Statue of Unity at Kevadiya

<p>
<strong>With plans afoot to develop an art gallery with a souvenir shop at the local railway station, the tourists visiting the 'Statue of Unity' at Kevadiya in Gujarat will soon be able to experience the rich cultural history of state just after arriving in Narmada district's town.</strong></p>
<p>
The 182-metre statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the world's tallest which was dedicated to the nation on his birth anniversary by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018.</p>
<p>
The Vadodara division of Western Railway today revealed that it has awarded a first-of-its-kind contract in Indian Railways for development of the art gallery with a souvenir shop at Kevadiya railway station under the Public Private Partnerships (PPP) initiative.</p>

Drawing on the benefits of PPP model, the art gallery will showcase different art and craft forms of Gujarat and India and will be developed and operated by private party with earnings to Railways of 24.7 lakhs and potential revenue of Rs 2.83 crore.</p>
<p>
This concept will not only enrich the experience of people visiting Kevadiya but will also provide employment to the local tribal people of Narmada district by giving them an opportunity to promote their tribal art.</p>
