Sourav Ganguly stable, to undergo echo test today

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president and former India team captain Sourav Ganguly had an “uneventful” night and check-up echocardiography will be done today to check his heart function, the Woodlands Hospital said in its latest medical bulletin.

The medical board will also discuss the further treatment plan with his family members, the Woodlands Hospital said.

The hospital said that the doctors are keeping “constant vigil” on Ganguly’s health situation and appropriate measures are being taken from time to time.

The 48-year-old former cricketer was hospitalised at 1 pm on Saturday with “chest discomfort, heaviness of head, vomiting and a spell of dizziness” while exercising in his home gym. Following this, doctors had conducted angioplasty on him.
A coronavirus test was also conducted on Ganguly and he tested negative for it on Saturday.

Ganguly was unanimously elected president of the BCCI, the sport's most powerful body, in 2019. He also played a key role in organising the IPL 2020 in the United Arab Emirates last year.

The left-handed opening batsman retired from Test cricket in 2008 having scored 7,212 runs including 16 centuries, his first at Lord's on debut. He has also scored 11,363 runs in 311 one-day internationals..
