India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a right knee injury and has been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup cricket tournament in Dubai.
BCCI announced Friday evening that its Senior Selection Committee has named Axar Patel as the replacement for Jadeja.
Patel was earlier named as one of the standbys in the squad and will join the team in Dubai soon.
Moved up the batting order to No.4 against Pakistan on Sunday, Jadeja played a crucial knock of 35 runs to help set up India’s win in their first game in the Asia Cup.
He currently remains under the supervision of the BCCI medical team.
