Punjab gangster-turned-terrorist Goldy Brar detained in California

Chandigarh: Most wanted Punjab gangster-turned-terrorist Goldy Brar of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang has been detained in California by Interpol at the request of the Indian security agencies, according to reliable sources.

The notorious gangster is wanted in the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case and many other terrorist-linked incidents in Punjab.

Godly Brar went to Canada in 2017 on a student visa and sneaked into the US some time ago making Salt Lake City in Fresno his place of hiding. He kept shuttling between Fresno and San Francisco changing residences. He was usually seen having food at restaurants run by Punjabi immigrants in Fresno and San Francisco.

The R&AW was closely tracking Goldy Brar’s movement in the US after he claimed responsibility on May 29 for the daylight killing of Punjabi pop singer Sidhu Moosewala in Mansa. His gang launched extortion operations once Goldy Brar gained notoriety in the public eye after Moosewala’s killing.

Goldy also claimed responsibility for the murder of Dera Sacha Sauda follower Pardeep Singh in Kotkapura recently. He has been issuing threats to Hindu businessmen as well as policemen in Punjab. His connection to the ISI of Pakistan is an open secret.

The authorities in California are neither denying nor confirming the development due to security concerns.  A journalist, Hussan Singh Laroya Banga, based in California confirmed to indianarraitve.com on the phone that Satinderjeet Singh Brar alias Goldy Brar had been detained from San Francisco a week ago but the information was kept under wraps for security reasons.

Punjab police seemed to have no information about the development. A red corner notice was issued to the Interpol at the instance of the Punjab police.

Goldy Brar’s detention is part of a string of successes by Indian security agencies that are sending alarm bells across terrorists hiding abroad.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) this morning announced the arrest of terrorist Harpreet Singh Malaysia from Delhi airport. He was involved in the Ludhiana court building bomb blast on December 21 in which one person was killed and six injured.

The NIA earlier arrested terrorist Kulwinderjit Singh alias Khanpuria from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on November 21. He had been associated with terrorist outfits including the Babbar Khalsa International and the Khalistan Liberation Force. He was arrested soon after his arrival from Bangkok.

The NIA had declared a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to his arrest. According to an official statement Khanpuria, an Amritsar native, had been absconding since 2019 and was wanted in many terrorist cases, including the conspiracy to carry out targeted killings in Punjab.
