Priti Patel, Amjad Ali Khan other eminent personalities pay tribute to 26/11 victims in London

Noted Indian and British personalities paid tribute to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack victims at the Indian high commission in London. These included former British home secretary Priti Patel, British MPs Catherine West and Virendra Sharma and also sarod player Amjad Ali Khan on Saturday.

The Indian diaspora and people from other foreign missions too visited the Indian high commission to pay their respects.


In a tweet Patel said: “Today I joined HCI London & colleagues to remember the many innocent lives lost in the Mumbai terror attacks 14 years ago on November 26 2008. We remember those who died, their families & those whose courage & humanity helped others. They are in our prayers”.


Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan also tweeted: “Very honoured to have paid tributes to martyrs on the 14th anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in London at the High Commision of India”. The doyen was accompanied by his son.


The high commission also held a photo exhibition on the occasion. Indian high commissioner Vikram Doraiswami spoke about a resilient India in the face of the terror attacks carried out 14 years back by Pakistan-trained terrorists. Doraiswami  said: “These were real people, with real families with real hopes and aspirations, all of which were cut short”.
