Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya draws visitors in large numbers

<p>
<strong>In a short span of just two months, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya which was opened to the public on April 21 this year, has been visited by more than 50,000 visitors!</strong></p>
<p>
It was inaugurated on April 14 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.</p>
<p>
Those visiting the museum are from diverse sections of the society and include all age groups. Among those who frequent this unique museum are families, tourist groups, young adults, people with special needs, and groups from educational institutions.</p>

Many important dignitaries including President Ram Nath Kovind; Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu; Chief Justice of India; Speaker of the Lok Sabha; Members of the Union Council of Ministers; Governors and Chief Ministers of various States; and Supreme Court judges have visited the museum.</p>
<p>
Among the varied attractions in the Sangrahalaya those with interactive features has drawn a lot of attention. These include picture/walk with one’s favourite Prime Minister and the helicopter ride.</p>
<p>
The Sangrahalaya is a tribute to every Prime Minister of India, and a narrative record of their contribution to the development of the nation. It is through the journey of these Prime Ministers who hailed from diverse sections of the society, the visitors are acquainted with India’s unique journey as a parliamentary democracy.</p>
<p>
The story of India after Independence is told at the museum in a comprehensive, objective, and interesting manner aided with technology-based interfaces like holograms, virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive kiosks, computerized kinetic sculptures, smartphone applications, interactive screens, experiential installations etc.</p>
<p>
The use of technology to present historical narratives makes the Sangrahalaya different from other conventional museum displays.</p>
<p>
What makes the exhibits at the Sangrahalaya authentic and real are the use of original pictures and videos. The personal belongings of Prime Ministers kept in the Sangrahalaya also greatly attract the visitors. The objectivity with which the lives and tenures of Prime Ministers have been exhibited has been recognized and appreciated by all.</p>
<p>
The Sangrahalaya will shortly inaugurate a high-tech light and sound show on India’s successful space programme.</p>
