Political leaders, foreign envoys and military top brass pay tribute to General Rawat

<p>
<strong>A large number of people, including several ministers, foreign dignitaries, political leaders and defence personnel are paying their tributes to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat as his body, and that of his wife Madhulika Rawat, were brought to his residence in Delhi today.</strong></p>

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, the three service chiefs, Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar and several others also paid tributes to Brigadier LS Lidder before his cremation which was held at Brar Square in Delhi Cantonment on Friday morning.<br />
<br />
The last rites of General Rawat and his wife will also take place at the same place with 5/11 Gorkha Rifles, the unit in which he was commissioned and also commanded later, looking after all the arrangements.</p>

CDS Rawat and his wife lost their lives along with 11 others in the military chopper crash in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.<br />
<br />
Their mortal remains were brought from Sulur to Delhi in an Indian Air Force aircraft on Thursday evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his homage to all the victims at the Palam airport and had also met the family members of all the deceased.</p>

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, BJP national president JP Nadda and several other leaders also paid their tributes to General Rawat and his wife.<br />
