PM Modi’s Twitter following shoots past 90 million mark

The number of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s followers on Twitter have shot past the 90 million mark, making him one of the most followed political leaders across the world on social media.

According to the latest list released by World of Statistics on its official Twitter handle, Prime Minister Modi is the only Indian among the top 10 individuals who are most followed on Twitter in the world.

He has a much larger following on Twitter than US President Joe Biden’s 37.7 million followers. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has 2 million followers. The other political leader with a large Twitter base is former US President Donald Trump with 86.6 million followers.

As part of his social media outreach, PM Modi had joined Twitter in 2009 during his tenure as Gujarat’s chief minister and his following touched one million followers within a year.
