PM Modi’s popularity soars, majority also satisfied with NDA’s performance-India Today survey

A majority of Indians are satisfied with the Narendra Modi government’s performance while the Prime Minister’s popularity has only increased. According to the Mood of the Nation survey conducted by India Today-CVoter this month, 67 per cent of the respondents said they were ‘satisfied’ with the current government’s performance—11 per cent higher than the findings in August. As far as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s performance is concerned, 72 per cent said they were satisfied notwithstanding the Covid 19 crisis and threats from China.

In August 37 per cent of the respondents were dissatisfied with the NDA government. The figure has dipped to 18 per cent now.

A total of 1,40,917 respondents were considered for this survey.

The survey projected 284 Lok Sabha seats for BJP if general elections were held immediately. As per the findings, the primary opposition Congress will win 191 seats if elections were to be held now.

Twenty per cent of the respondents said they were happy with the way the NDA government handled the Covid 19 crisis while 8 per cent showed their dissatisfaction over the Centre’s Covid management. Fourteen per cent of the respondents were satisfied with the revocation of Article 370. Another 12 per cent respondents accorded building of the Ram Mandir as the biggest achievement of the BJP led NDA government.

Among the failures, 25 per cent felt that the NDA government’s biggest failure was to arrest rising prices. Another 17 per cent also said the government failed in tackling unemployment.
