PM Modi visits Somnath temple as he kicks off next leg of high-voltage Gujarat poll campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high-voltage campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) began today with a visit to the iconic Somnath Temple.

The Prime Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Somnath trust, offered prayers at the temple.

PM Modi then went to Veeraval to address a mammoth rally, the first of the four back-to-back public meetings that he has scheduled for the Saurashtra region today to rev up the ruling party’s poll campaign. Venues have been finalised at Dhorarji, Amreli and Botad as well.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in poll-bound Gujarat this weekend is expected to participate in at least eight programmes crisscrossing the state from Saurashtra to Surat.
