The sprawling Yashobhumi Convention Centre
After the recently concluded G20 summit which showcased the Bharat Mandapam, the state of the art, India International Convention Centre (IICC), ‘Yashobhoomi’ at Dwarka, built across more than 73,000 square metres of area has been inaugurated today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Built at a cost of Rs 5,400 crore, the first phase of the convention centre was launched by the Prime Minister today, also his birthday. The sprawling complex has 15 convention rooms including a main auditorium and a grand ballroom. It also has 13 meeting rooms and can seat 11,000 delegates.
“You all will also be happy to know that Yashobhoomi is also going to be synonymous with sustainability,” Modi wrote on social media X. He added that It has a modern wastewater treatment system, there are provisions for rainwater harvesting and the complex has received Platinum certification from Indian Green Building Council. A new Metro station, ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ will also be inaugurated thus linking this iconic venue with the Delhi Metro Airport Express, Modi said.
The Prime Minister, who also inaugurated the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, took a ride on the metro to reach the convention centre.
Earlier, the Bharat Mandapam the venue of G20 in New Delhi was the high point.
