PM Modi says high-level committee has been set up to strengthen NCC

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the government has set up a  high-level committee to strengthen the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the country and one lakh new cadets have already been enlisted in the border areas over the past two years.</p>

Addressing the NCC rally at Cariappa Ground in New Delhi today, the Prime Minister said, "The training I got in NCC and the things I learned here have provided me immense strength in delivering upon my responsibilities. Recently, I had also received an NCC alumni card.”</p>

"Today, when the country is moving forward with new resolutions, then our efforts are also going on to strengthen the NCC in the country. For this, a high-level review committee has been set up in the country. In the last two years, we have enlisted one lakh, new cadets, in the border areas of the country," he said.</p>

“It should be our endeavour that more and more girls should be included in NCC,” he added.</p>
<p>
PM Modi said,  "The country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of its independence. When a young country becomes a witness to such a historic festival, there is a different enthusiasm in its celebration. It is visible even on this ground today. This is the vision of the youth power of India, which will fulfill our resolves."</p>
<p>
The Prime Minister hailed the contribution by the  National Cadet Corps for the country and said, "Today, all the young men and women who are in NCC, NSS, most of them were born in this century itself. You have to take India till 2047. That's why with your efforts and your resolve, the fulfilment of those resolutions will be possible and India will be successful."</p>
<p>
The Prime Minister said that it is NCC's responsibility to ensure that the things learned in NCC are put into action not only when all in uniform, but also in society.</p>
<p>
The rally is the culmination of NCC Republic Day Camp and is held on January 28 every year.</p>
<p>
As a token of respect, PM Modi sported the signature bottle green coloured turban with red badge hackle (feather plume) of the NCC clipped to his headgear as he inspected the Guard of Honour and reviewed March Past by NCC contingents.</p>
