The new Vande Bharart Express between Secunderabad in Telangana and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh is likely to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8.
This will be the second Vande Bharat Express between the two states.
Union Minister of Tourism G Kishan Reddy, who is an MP from Secunderabad, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Hyderabad to inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express train and roll out other development projects for the region.
The Vande Bharat train will cut the travel time for the 660-kilometre journey between Secunderabad and Triputi to 8 hours and 30 minutes. Most of the current trains take more than 11 hours to complete the journey. Average speed on this route will be 77.73 kmph.
The train will have halts at Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole and Nellore stations.
Currently, another Vande Bharat Express operates between Secunderabad and Vizag.
In addition to the Secunderabad-Tirupati route, Telangana’s capital city is expected to get two more Vande Bharat trains between Kacheguda in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Secunderabad and Pune, according to railway officials.
The Prime Minister had inaugurated India’s 11th Vande Bharat Express train between Rani Kamlapati railway station in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal to New Delhi railway station via Agra Cantt station in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The train will cover the 709 km distance in seven hours and 50 minutes.
