PM Modi is world’s most popular leader, Joe Biden ranked 6th: Global Survey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approval ratings have soared to an all-time high making him the most popular leader in the world, according to global political intelligence agency Morning Consult.

The result of the 22-nation survey shared on Twitter, shows PM Modi at the top of the list of world leaders with a 78% approval rating followed by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador who has got a rating of 68%. Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese figures in the 3rd spot with a rating of 58%.

US President Joe Biden is ranked 6th on list with an approval rating of 40% while UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is at the 16th position and has a rating of 30%.

Morning Consult said that it had carried out the survey from January 26-31, 2023.

The approval ratings are based on a 7-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with sample sizes varying by country,” according to the official website of Morning Consult.

Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is at number four in the list with a rating of 52 per cent. Brazilian President Lula de Silva has been placed 5th with a rating of 50%.   Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is at the 7th spot.

UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was ranked 16th with a popularity rating of 30 per cent. While French President Emmanuel Macron followed Sunak at 17th spot with a rating of 29 per cent. Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway secured the 22nd spot with a popularity approval of 21 percent.
