PM flags off Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express, dedicates 100% rail electrification in Uttarakhand to nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the inaugural run of the Vande Bharat Express train from Dehradun to Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal. He also dedicated to the nation, newly electrified rail sections and declared Uttarakhand a 100% electric traction state.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said India of the 21st century can develop more rapidly by modernizing its infrastructure. Earlier, the parties which were in power for a long time never understood this need of the country as their focus was on corruption.

PM Modi said the Vande Bharat Express will connect the nation’s capital to the Dev Bhoomi of Uttrakhand. He informed that the travel time between the two cities will further be reduced and the onboard facilities will make for a pleasant travel experience. The new Vande Bharat Express will cover the distance between Dehradun to Delhi in 4.5 hours.

“India is being looked upon with great hope. The world wanted to come here to see India and understand the essence of the country. In such a situation, there are great opportunities for states like Uttarakhand. Vande Bharat train is also going to help in enjoying the journey to Uttarakhand to the fullest,” PM Modi said.

With world-class amenities, it will usher in a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for tourists visiting the state. This train is completely indigenous and equipped with advanced safety features including armour technology.
