Odisha Health Minister Naba Das was critically injured on Sunday as a policeman shot him at an event on Sunday. He was rushed to hospital in a critical state. The incident took place at around 12:30 pm.
As soon as the minister got off his car and was about to walk to inaugurate the new party office a BJD party office at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district, shots were fired at him by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gopal Chandra Das. According to reports, he received two bullet wounds on his chest.
ASI Das, who was on duty at the Gandhi Chowk police outpost, fired from his service revolver. The ASI has been arrested and is being interrogated. The motive behind the attack is not yet clear, sources said.
