NIA slaps terroriston Lawrence Bishnoi, to be lodged in high-security Bathinda jail

In a major crackdown on narco terror links, NIA has gone ahead declaring 14 gangsters as terrorists including dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and Kala Jatheri, according to a recently filed NIA chargesheet. All the accused have been booked under Unlawful Activities Prevention (UAPA) Act and according to NIA they have links with terror groups operating from abroad. The accused include Lawrence Bishnoi, Sandeep alias Kala Jatheri, Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar (resident of Canada), Sachin Thapan alias Sachin Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi alias Bhanu, Vikramjeet alias Vikram Brar, Virendra Pratap Singh alias Kala Rana, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar alias Raju Mota, Raju Basodi, Anil Chippi, Naresh Yadav and Shahbaz Ansari.

The federal agency has accused them of not only terror funding but also brain washing and recruiting youth to run their extortion nexus. Speaking to Indianarrative.com advocate Vishal Chopra who is representing all of them said that there is no corroborative evidence in the chargesheet to support allegations of anti-national activities. “They are being framed for crimes they did not commit. NIA till date has not clarified any anti national activity or threat to national security. We are contesting the UAPA charges,” said Chopra.

It may be noted that NIA has registered two separate cases against the most dreaded Bishnoi. In the first case this concerned chargesheet naming 14 has been filed while in the second case where the charge sheet is still awaited, Lawrence Bishnoi has been cited as key accused. NIA has accused him of conspiring with Khalistan supporter Arsh Dalla and having links with terrorist groups like Pakistan-based terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International. He has been accused of not just running an extortion business but also expanding drug menace across the country. The FIR alleges that the Bishnoi gang is importing drugs and earning by marketing the same in India.

Meanwhile a Delhi Court has ordered repatriation of Bishnoi to Bhatinda Jail as Delhi’s Mandoli jail authorities have highlighted a risk to his life owing to high possibilities of gang war. Bishnoi is expected to travel back from Delhi to Punjab today. Bishnoi is one of the most dreaded gangsters of the country with dozens of heinous crimes to his credit. He has been issuing life threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan from prison reportedly over the fact that his community was angry with the actor over the blackbuck killing case. He reached heights of notoriety after claiming responsibility for the fatal attack on Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala which shook Punjab.
