NIA list of 28 Punjab gangsters abroad reveals Khalistani links

Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today released a list of 28 gangsters, all hailing from Punjab and hiding in foreign countries.  The list belies the claim of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that Goldy Brar, a gangster who features in the list, has been detained in the US.  “We will soon bring him back to India,” he had claimed during the course of Gujarat elections.

The next on the list after Satinder Singh Goldy Brar originally hailing from Muktsar sahib district and considered the person behind the killing pop singer Sidhu Moosewala last year in May, is Anmol Bishnoi, a brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, hailing from Fazilka district.

According to the NIA, the Bishnoi gang of which Goldy Brar is a key figure is linked to the Babbar Khalsa International operative Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike. The RPG attack on intelligence headquarters in Mohali and a police station in the Tarn Taran district was the handiwork of Landa Harike.

Anmol Bishnoi alias Bhanu who has been charge-sheeted by the NIA had conspired to unleash a wave of terror and carry out targeted killings of social and religious leaders, film stars, singers and businessmen. He is also accused of links with Khalistanis in Canada, Nepal and other countries.

The other notorious gangsters include Moosewala murder accused Sachin Thapan, Gurjant Singh alias Janta, and Romi Hong Kong. Among the gangsters named in the list is Gaurav Patyal alias Lucky Patyal is a resident of Khuda Lahora , whose premises were raided by the NIA last year as part of its crackdown on arms smuggling and narco-terrorism, targeted killings, extortion, kidnapping and other criminal and terror acts. Patyal was earlier a part of Dharminder Grewal Gugni also called the Gugni gang.

Another dangerous gangster turned terrorist now based in Pakistan is Harvinder Singh alias Rinda originally from a village in Tarn Taran district, is at present working at the instance of ISI and is residing in Pakistan. While in India he killed 2 people in Nanded sahib in Maharashtra and escaped to Nepal. Later he was picked up by the ISI men working in the Himalayan country and taken to Pakistan.

 

Punjab police sources say Rinda is slated to be appointed as the next chief of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) in place of Harminder Singh Mintu who died of a heart attack in Nabha jail in 2021.

 

Sandeep Grewal alias Sunny Khawajke now aligned with the Bishnoi gang is the brother of gangster Ravi Khawajka who was killed in Ludhiana while attending a marriage party. A rival gang of Davinder Bambiha was responsible for his murder. The Bambihas and the Bishnois are rival gangs. The former killed Vicky Middukhera in Mohali in 2021 and as a retaliation Bishnoi gang killed Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.

Punjab police say Supreet Singh alias Harry Chatha is an associate of gangster Sukh Bakhariwal responsible for the murder of Shaurya Chakra awardee comrade Balwinder Singh resident of Bhikhiwind in Tarn Taran. The Bhakhariwal gang is responsible for 15 killings in border areas. Sukh Bakhariwal was arrested by Delhi police’s operation cell from Dubai. He is currently lodged in Tihar jail.

Ramanjit Singh alias Romi Hong Kong is originally a credit card fraudster and is accused of providing strategic and financial support to terrorists. His associate Rummi Mishana, resident of the Bathinda district was involved in several killings in Punjab.

The names of the gangsters and their suspected location is as follows: Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy brar (United States); Anmol Bishnoi (US); Harjot Singh Gill (US); Darmanjit Singh alias Darman Kahlon (US); Amrit Bal (US); Sukhdool Singh alias Sukha Duneke (Canada); Gurpinder Singh alias Baba Dal (Canada); Satveer Singh Warring alias Sam (Canada); Snover Dhillon (Canada); Lakhbir Singh alias Landa (Canada); Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala (Canada); Charnjeet Singh alias Rinku Bihla (Canada); Ramandeep Singh alias Raman Judge (Canada); Gagandeep Singh alias Gagna Hathu (Canada); Vikramjeet Singh Brar alias Vikk (UAE); Kuldeep Singh alias Deep Nawanshaharia (UAE); Rohit Godara (Europe); Gaurav Patyal alias Lucky Patyal (Armenia); Sachin Thapan alias Sachin Bishnoi (Azerbaijan); Jagjeet Singh alias Gandhi (Malaysia); Jackpal Singh alias Lali Dhaliwal (Malaysia); Harwinder Singh alias Rinda (Pakistan); Rajesh Kumar alias Sonu Khatri (Brazil); Sandeep Grewal alias Billa alias Sunny Khawajke (Indonesia); Manpreet Singh alias Peeta (Philippines); Supreet Singh alias Harry Chatha (Germany); Gurjant Singh alias Janta (Australia); and Ramanjit Singh alias Romi Hong Kong (Hong Kong).
