Mujib-Gandhi digital exhibition in Dhaka showcases shared blood-bond between India and Bangladesh

<p>
A unique joint exhibition on the two founding fathers of India and Bangladesh–Mahatma Gandhi and Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, showcasing the shared destiny of the two neighbours is turning heads in Dhaka.</p>
<p>
On September 25 (Saturday), the Bangabandhu-Bapu digital exhibition was opened for public viewing in Bangldesh's capital. The show is a specially curated one and was organised by the two Governments to commemorate two important landmarks. One was the Mujib Boarsho – Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Rehman’s birth centenary and the other, celebration of 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth. It also celebrated the golden jubilee of India-Bangladesh bilateral relations.</p>
<p>
This unique digital exhibition has been specially curated by Birad Yagnik, the curator of Mahatma Gandhi Digital Museums.</p>

In a thematic manner, the show showcases the lives of India’s father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi and the father of the nation of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.</p>
<p>
Dr. Moni during the inauguration recalled that the two nations India and Bangladesh are bound not only by history and geography but their destinies are also bound together. He went on to recall the great sacrifice of Indian soldiers and other freedom fighters in the liberation of Bangladesh.</p>

He described the bond between the two countries as everlasting.</p>

The Indian Commissioner informed that the exhibition will be displayed at  Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Khulna in Bangladesh and also internationally after it concludes in Dhaka on October 11.</p>

Last year on December 16, the exhibition was virtually inaugurated by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina when  the two leaders had a virtual summit. Modi along with Hasina had also visited and appreciated the digital exhibition at Dhaka on his visit to that country in March 2021.</p>
<p>
Hosted by the High Commission of India in association with Bangladesh's Cultural Affairs Ministry and Shilpakala Academy, the exhibition will remain open from till October 11.</p>
