Modi demolishes two key colonial era relics, deepening foundations of a New India

By renaming Raj Path to Kartavya Path and unveiling Subhash Bose’s statue near India Gate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took giant steps to re-lay the foundations of a New India, liberated from a colonial mindset.

“Raj Path (Kingsway), the symbol of slavery, has become a matter of history from today, has been erased forever. Today a new history has been created in the form of a path of duty. I congratulate all the countrymen for their freedom from yet another identity of slavery, in this nectar of independence,” PM Modi said during his inaugural address.

The Prime Minister said that India was being reborn in the era of Amrtikal, which will last for 25 years leading to the emergence of a developed India by 2047.

PM Modi pointed out that the ceremonies held today amplified “five Prana” pitch he made during his August 15 independence address, which include the decolonisation of the mind as the pre-requisite for the emergence of a New India.

“The Rajpath was for the British Raj, to whom the people of India were slaves. The spirit of Rajpath was also a symbol of slavery, its structure was also a symbol of slavery. Today its architecture has also changed, and its spirit has also changed.”

The Prime Minister pointed out that in order to shed the slavish mentality, India “has changed hundreds of laws that have been going on since the British era. The time and date of the Indian budget, which was following the time of the British Parliament for so many decades, has also been changed. Through the National Education Policy, now the youth of the country are being liberated from the compulsion of foreign language”.

PM Modi stressed that installation of Netaji’s statue was a symbol of rejecting a colonial mindset and adoption of a mentality that will unleash India’s full potential.

“Today if Netaji’s statue has been replaced by the mark of George V’s statue, then this is not the first example of abandonment of slavery mentality.”

He pointed out that Netaji Subhash’s vision of a new India will guide the country in the era of Amritkal.

“Today a huge statue of our national leader Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose has also been installed near India Gate. At the time of slavery, there was a statue of the representative of the British Raj. Today the country has also established the life of a modern, strong India by installing the statue of Netaji at the same place. “

The Prime Minister said that his government was already following Subhash Bose’s path. “In the last eight years, we have taken so many such decisions one after the other, on which the ideals and dreams of Netaji are imprinted. Netaji Subhash was the first Prime Minister of Akhand Bharat who had liberated Andaman even before 1947 and unfurled the tricolour.”

Fully optimistic about the future, PM Modi stressed that after 75 years of independence “the country has got a new inspiration, new energy… Today we are filling the picture of tomorrow, leaving behind the past, adding new colours to the picture of tomorrow. Today this new aura is visible everywhere, it is the aura of confidence of New India.”
