The India Meteorological Department has forecast fairly widespread rain for the West Bengal and the North-east states and isolated light rainfall with dust storms and gusty winds very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during next two days.
According to IMD’s bulletin today, under the influence of southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal, fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Northeast India and West Bengal-Sikkim during the next 5 days.
Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura on 03rd & 04th May.
Under the influence of a western disturbance heavy rainfall is also likely over Jammu-Kashmir today.
Isolated light rainfall with dust storm or thunderstorm gusty winds of speed up to 40-50 kmph very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during next 2 days.
Due to wind discontinuity over peninsular India in lower tropospheric levels isolated to scattered rainfall with gusty winds very likely over Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 5 days.
A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around 4th May. Heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Nicobar Islands on 4th & 5th and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Andaman Islands on 6th & 7th May.
