Massive rally of BJP workers greets PM Modi at grand roadshow in Delhi ahead of party meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted by a massive gathering of enthusiastic party workers lined, showering flower petals and chanting slogans, throughout the BJP’s mega roadshow from Patel Chowk to the NDMC head office in the heart of Delhi while he waved to them from his car.

The Prime Minister arrived at the venue of the BJP national executive meeting after the mega roadshow of about one kilometre.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s two-day national executive meeting, which is likely to endorse an extension of tenure for party national president JP Nadda and discuss strategy for the forthcoming state assembly polls followed by the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Towering cutouts of the Prime Minister were placed along the road, besides several posters highlighting various initiatives of the government, and also India’s presidency of the G20. Stages had been erected at places. Folk artistes from several states performed on the road amid blaring patriotic songs.

Ahead of the big event, Mr Nadda held a meeting with party leaders from across the country. He will also inaugurate a grand exhibition, featuring several themes, at the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) convention centre.

Accompanying the PM at the National Executive will be 35 Union Ministers, 12 Chief Ministers, and 37 regional heads. As many as 350 party workers are expected to attend.

The first exhibition theme is “Sewa, Sangathan, aur Samarpan (Service, Organisation, and Dedication)”.

The second theme — “Vishwa Guru India” — will feature India’s contribution in the global fight against Covid, and the G20 presidency.

The third theme, “Good Governance first”, will display steps taken to ensure better governance.

Other initiatives like empowering the deprived, inclusive and strong India, and conserving the age-old icons like building the Ram temple at Ayodhya, and the rise of Sanatan Dharma across the globe, are the other themes that will be showcased on the sidelines of the meeting.

Various political and economic issues in poll-bound states will also be discussed.

Mr Nadda’s three-year term as the national president ends this month. He is likely to lead the party till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are over.
