Mann is functioning not as Punjab CM but as Kejriwal’s pilot, says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today lashed out at the AAP government in Punjab for the deteriorating law and order situation and worsening drug menace in the state.

Addressing a massive rally in Gurdaspur to mark 9 years of the of the Narendra Modi-led Union government, Shah accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of ignoring the problems of the state and working as a pilot of Arvind Kejriwal as he accompanies him on trips to various states.

“He has no time to look at the issues of the state as he works as a pilot of Arvind Kejriwal. If Kejriwal has to go to Chennai or Kolkata it’s Mann who will be in a plane along with him. I fail to distinguish if Bhagwant Mann is the CM or the pilot. His time is entirely devoted to arranging Kejriwal’s tours while the state continues to suffer. I have not seen any government like this,” the home minister said.

Shah said Punjab needed some desperate measures to improve the deteriorating law and order situation and curb drugs. He announced the opening of a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in the border district of Amritsar to fight the drug menace in the region.

“The Modi government is working towards making the country free from drugs and uprooting the drug trade from within Punjab. NCB office will be opened in Amritsar within a month to fight against drugs and within a short time BJP workers will go to every village and start the journey of public awareness against drugs,” Shah announced.

The border districts like Gurdaspur and Amritsar have been seen the maximum drone infiltration from Pakistan which has doubled in the last one year. The Punjab governor too had visited the border villages and highlighted the alarming situation due to the surge in drugs.

“The law and order is worsening by the day. People are not safe here. Drug smuggling is increasing. The problems of farmers are being ignored. The oppression of Dalits has also increased. A Punjab cabinet minister has been involved in the sexual exploitation of a Dalit, yet no action has been taken. Where is the Rs 1,000 that you promised to transfer to the bank accounts of all women in the state every month? Punjab’s mothers and sisters are waiting for it,” the home minister said.

“It’s just a government of shallow promises. Mann is an expert at just one thing issuing full-page advertisements. I understand advertisements of the Punjab government in Punjab, but the full-page advertisements in other states from the state exchequer depletes the treasury. Voters are not mad and they will hold this government accountable for all acts during elections. You can’t keep fooling them,” concluded Shah.

Meanwhile, local BJP MP and Bollywood actor Sunny Deol remained absent from the rally as his son Karan Deol wedding in Mumbai was scheduled for today.
