Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra shared his “Washington moment” on Twitter after the India-US Hi-Tech Handshake meeting in the East Room of the White House on Friday during PM Modi’s visit to Washington.
Mahindra, Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani and 3rdiTech co-founder Vrinda Kapoor missed the group shuttle for the next lunch event as they were talking with US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. They were then trying to call an Uber cab when they unexpectedly ran into NASA astronaut Sunita Williams who was also at the event. Mahindra requested her for a selfie and in the bonhomie that followed, they decided to hitch a ride with the astronaut!
“I suppose this was what they would call a ‘Washington moment.’ After the tech handshake meeting yesterday, Mukesh Ambani, Vrinda Kapoor & I were continuing a conversation with the Secretary of Commerce & missed the group shuttle bus to the next lunch engagement. We were trying to call an Uber when we ran into NASA astronaut Sunita Williams @Astro_Suni Time for a selfie & we also asked if we could hitch a ride on her space shuttle instead of an Uber,” Mahindra wrote.
