J-k: Bodies of 2 terrorists recovered in Pulwama; operation underway

Bodies of two terrorists have been recovered in Pulwama’s Nihama area following an exchange of fire between terrorists and security personnel, police said on Monday.

“Bodies of 2 terrorists killed in the anti-terrorist operation recovered so far. Identity an affiliation being ascertained. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a statement on X.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Inspector General of Police VK Birdi told ANI, “Yesterday evening we received information on the presence of a terrorist in the Nihama area. The input was developed and a search operation was carried out in the area by a joint team of Pulwama Police, Indian Army, and CRPF. When the search operation was going on, bullets were fired at our parties from inside the hideout. This search operation transformed into an encounter… The operation is still going on.”

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Nihama area of Pulwama district on Monday morning.

In a post on X, Kashmir Zone Police said that the security forces are on the job.

“Encounter has started at Nihama area of District Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” it said.
