Lata Mangeshkar, India&rsquo;s legendary singer who mesmerised millions with her melodious voice, passed away today at the age of 92 years. The iconic singer, who tested positive for coronavirus, was admitted to Mumbai&rsquo;s Breach Candy Hospital on January 8. She was in the ICU of the hospital and was later diagnosed with pneumonia as well.&nbsp;</p>

A two-day national mourning has been declared for the Nightingale of India with Prime Minister Narendra Modi being among the first to share the sad news, saying, &ldquo;I am anguished beyond words.&quot;</p>

&quot;The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us. She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled. The coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, whose melodious voice had an unparalleled ability to mesmerise people,&quot; the Prime Minister tweeted.</p>

My heartfelt tribute to the holy soul. Her passing is an irreparable loss to the country. She was always an inspiration to all the music seekers&quot;.</p>
