With the increase in the number of recoveries, India's recovery rate among Covid-19 patients is now inching towards 75 per cent. With the recoveries of 57,989 Covid patients until yesterday, the total number of recoveries has reached 22,80,566.
India’s total recoveries now exceed the total active cases (7,07,668) by nearly 16 lakhs (1,572,898). The average daily number of recoveries is constantly moving up from 15,018 (1-7 July 2020) to 60,557 (13-20 August).

The constantly increasing recoveries have ensured that the active cases, has reduced and currently comprises only 23.24 per cent of the total positive cases.
It has also resulted in a gradual fall in the mortality rate, which at 1.86%, is currently is one of the lowest globally. This has been made possible because of the comprehensive and sustained effectiveness of the government's policy of testing aggressively, tracking comprehensively and treating efficiently.
