The Indian Air Force carried out Exercise Ranvijay in which day and night operations by combat aircraft including Su-30s were carried out as part of integrated wargames to hone the skills of fighter pilots.
“Exercise Ranvijay was conducted in UB Hills and Central Air Command Area of Responsibility from 16-23 June wherein full spectrum operations by all combat assets by day & night were carried out. The focus was on Integrated operations while optimally exploiting electronic warfare capabilities of Indian Air Force,” according to a statement issued by Central Air Command, IAF.
The exercise was carried out from different air bases of the command headquartered in Prayagraj.
Different IAF commands have been carrying out wargames to enhance co-ordination with the Army and Navy as part of the country’s new strategy to strengthen integration among the forces.
The new strategy to establish theatre commands, aims to build an integrated war-fighting machinery in a cost-effective manner. After addressing various concerns, a consensus has been reached among the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to move ahead with the plan.
