IAF confirms one casualty in tragic crash of two fighter aircraft

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has confirmed the tragic air crash involving two of its fighter aircraft near Gwalior Saturday morning which resulted in one casualty.

“Two fighter aircraft of IAF were involved in an accident near Gwalior today morning. The aircraft were on routine operational flying training mission,” the IAF tweeted.

“One of the three pilots involved, sustained fatal injuries. An inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident,” it added.


Videos of the crash site in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena have gone viral on social media.


Initial reports suggested no casualties in the crash involving a Sukhoi-30 carrying two pilots and a Mirage 2000 carrying one pilot.
