Severe waterlogging and traffic jams were reported in many parts of Delhi after heavy spell of rain lashed the city on Saturday night and the wet spell continued on Sunday.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), more rain is likely in the national capital in the next couple of hours.
Due to waterlogging, motorists were stuck in nasty traffic snarls with pictures on social media showing the chaotic situation on the city’s roads.
However, some people were also enjoying the pleasant weather as they decided to spend the day at home with the sharp drop in temperature.
Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to plan their journey accordingly. Taking to their social media, the traffic police shared some updates on traffic disruption due to rain.
Motorists also took to Twitter to post updates regarding traffic congestion in parts of the city.
A heavy traffic jam was reported from Zakhira flyover. Similar situations were witnessed on Najafgarh road towards Bahadurgarh and on Ring Road from Raja Garden Chowk to the Dhaula Kuan loop and onwards to Moti Bagh as well. The traffic is also heavy near Anand Vihar, Red Fort and Mathura Road areas.
IMD has also predicted that the city is not likely to see any significant rainfall from 10 October 10 onwards though drizzling and light rain may continue.
