Prime Minister Narendra Modi, slated to visit Chhattisgarh and Telangana tomorrow, will lay the foundation for several development projects. In Chhattisgarh itself, Modi will inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 26,000 crore including the NMDC Steel Ltd’s Steel Plant at Nagarnar in Bastar district.
The greenfield project is expected to boost the economy of the region while creating multiple job opportunities. According to an official release, it will put Bastar on the steel map of the world and provide a boost to socioeconomic development of the region.
The Prime Minister will also kick off a road upgradation project in the state. From ‘Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh – Jharkhand Border section’ of National Highway-43, the new road will improve road connectivity, benefiting the people of the region. That apart, a new rail line between Antagarh and Taroki and a rail line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara is on the anvil. The redevelopment project of Jagdalpur Station under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will be taken up as well.
In Telengana, development projects in sectors including power, rail and health worth Rs 8000 crore will be launched. Among several infrastructure projects, the first 800 MW Unit of phase 1 of Telangana Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC will be flagged off. The project will provide low cost power to Telangana and provide a boost to economic development of the state. It will also be one of the most environmentally compliant power stations in the country.
Notably, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) across the state under Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.
