With heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), flight operations at Srinagar International airport were suspended on Friday.
News agency ANI reports that as the flights were cancelled from Srinagar due to bad weather, affected passengers will be accommodated by the respective Airlines on the next available flight at no extra cost.
Airport officials said that flights were suspended at 10 a.m. due to continuing snowfall and poor visibility. “AirAsia, Indigo, SpiceJet, Air India and Vistara have cancelled all their remaining flights to and from the Srinagar airport today,” officials said.
Even landslides were reported from the Srinagar-Jammu highway which led to stoppage of road traffic as well.
