Foreign ambassadors join Navratri celebrations in Vadodara

As many as 52 foreign ambassadors and high commissioners enjoyed the Navratri celebrations in Gujarat’s Vadodara Saturday evening, joining the sixth day of festivities along with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

“I thank all Gujaratis from the people of Afghanistan for giving us such love & respect,” said Afghanistan’s Ambassador to India Farid Mamundzay.

The diplomats enjoyed performing the iconic Gujarati Garba and Dandiya dance as well as the Indian hospitality.

“Excited to be joining the Navratri festivities in Gujarat’s Vadodara. I am so full of joy & happiness… I wish all Indians across the world a happy Navratri and may the light break the darkness,” said Danish Ambassador Freddy Svane.

Also joining celebrations were ambassadors from Russia,  Botswana, Fiji, Tanzania and several other countries.

“Great to see Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Vadodara for the Navratri experience. Look forward to participating in the celebrations tonight,” Jaishankar tweeted as he joined the envoys on a visit to Laxmi Vilas Palace to see the Raja Ravi Verma painting collection with them earlier in the day.
