The first exit poll results that came in after voting was over in Gujarat were announced by TV 9, Jan Ki Baat and P-MARQ, all of which gave an overwhelming majority to the BJP in the 182 seats of the state assembly.
While a party is required to win 92 seats to get a majority for forming a government in Gujarat, the lowest number of seats that one of these exit polls gave the BJP was 117 while the highest was a staggering 148.
The IndiaToday-Axis exit poll results show the BJP winning 129-151 seats with the Congress getting a mere 16-30 seats in Gujarat.
The number of seats, which the Congress is seen winning varies from a low of 30 to a high of around 50 seats. On the other hand, the exit polls project a dismal performance for AAP ranging from as few as 2 seats to a maximum of 13.
