<p class="p1">Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that during the Covid-19 pandemic the government built houses within 45-60 days under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grahmin). Usually, it takes around 125 days to build a house.</p>
<p class="p1">"Earlier, it usually took around 125 days to build a house. But during the Covid-19 pandemic, we took only 45-60 days. This happened due to the migrant workers who returned from the cities to their native places and joined the workforce," Modi said while handing over of 1.75 lakh houses in Madhya Pradesh to the beneficiaries through a videoconference</p>
<p class="p1">Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Governor Anandiben Patel, BJP MP Jyotiraditya Scindia and several beneficiaries also attended the event via the videoconference.</p>
<p class="p1">"The government had completed works worth Rs 23,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY)," said Modi adding, "About 2.25 crore persons have got their own houses in the last six years. 1.75 lakhs were completed in Madhya Pradesh."</p>
<p class="p1">He said that the government has ensured that all facilities like water, LPG and election are available in each house before to get handed to the beneficiaries.</p>
<p class="p1">“Tribal people, Adivasis have a different lifestyle, their suggestions were never taken into consideration earlier but our government has made houses for people based on their needs. We do not want people to change their lifestyle or live in congested houses. Houses are prepared and designed according to the local needs,” the Prime Minister said.</p>
<p class="p1">Modi also interacted with several beneficiaries on the occasion.</p>.
